How Jed Madela stays classic!
“Even if its just singing two lines, I treat every song that I do in ASAP as my last performance,” Jed Madela revealed to STIR.PH in yesterday’s media launch of the new The Classics Album from Universal Records when asked how he remains competitive in Sunday’s number one noontime music party.
By treating every performance as a big musical event, Jed stays on top. He has been is ASAP for five years where the turnover of newbies and veteran artists is a way of life. It’s the same practice when he releases a new album. The release of The Classics Album is another milestone in his successful career and in the history of Philippine music industry.
All the 16 carefully selected songs in The Classics Album, comprised a collection everybody will treasure. Jed’s inimitable vocal styling added more luster to the sterling qualities of the well-loved romantic and inspirational ditties.
Jed’s excellent renditions of evergreens like “What I Did For Love,” “Let Metry Again,” “I Believe,” “Love Story,” “It’s Impossible,” and “Portrait Of My Love” set us to singing and listening mood.

Christian Bautista: “I want to be the real man to the ladies na talagang honest, dedicated, committed, at hindi yung palaro-laro.”
“I will be real to you and I will not cheat on you.”
Ito ang quote ni Christian Bautista sa special supplement ng September issue ngCosmoplitan magazine na CosmoMen, kung saan isa ang singer-actor sa featured Celebrity Centerfolds.
Ipinaliwanag ni Christian kung bakit niya nasabi ang katagang yun sa press conference ng Cosmopolitan last Tuesday, August 28.
“Kasi, hindi ba, yung image ng lalaki ngayon, palaging sinasabi na playboy sila or hindi sila seryoso. Hindi sila matino. Personally, I want to be the real man to the ladies na talagang honest, dedicated, committed, at hindi yung palaro-laro. A real man who respects women and genuinely nila love at hindi niloloko,” sabi niya.
May mga kaibigan ba siya na naglalaro lang ng babae?
“A, meron mga kilala, pero, di ba, the real men have to stand up? Alam mo yun? If you want our country to change… I just came from Malaysia, people asked me, where you from? ‘I came from the Philippines.’ So, meron agad silang… Well, because of what happened, now, we have to prove to them what real Filipinos are, what real men are. Kailangang mag-stand up dapat.”
Ang tinutukoy ni Christian ay ang madugong hostage-taking sa Quirino Grandstand noong August 23 na kumitil sa buhay ng walong Hong Kong tourists.
DARING MOVE. Kung may nakakasubaybay sa pagre-reinvent ni Christian ng sarili niya, masasabing isa sa pinaka-daring move na ginawa niya ang pagpo-pose para sa Cosmo Centerfolds.
From being a very wholesome personality, ano’t naisipan niyang maging daring?
“After a while, kailangang i-innovate mo ang sarili mo, i-reinvent mo ang sarili mo para mas maging exciting again ang career mo,” sagot ng singer. “Ever year, there’s a new artist that is coming. So, kaming medyo naka-five years na, it’s still a blessing na nandito pa rin. But we have to give back to our audience something new.”
May nagbiro kay Christian kung meron daw siyang dapat panghinayang sa bago niyang look at body ngayon.
Natawa ito sabay sabing, “Wala naman. Wala naman. Ini-improve ko lang ang sarili ko. Para ito sa mga fans, sa mga audience natin para mas mag-enjoy sila sa inilalabas.”
Ano ang mga naging preparation niya sa ginawa niyang pictorial for Cosmo?
“Tamang pagkain, tamang workout. Dapat every week, meron akong workout na at least two or three times a week with my trainer sa Gold’s Gym. Mga less than a year din ang naging preparation ko,” sabi niya.
Ayon pa kay Christian, gusto niyang lumaki pa nang konti ang katawan niya. Pero, hindi naman daw niya naiisipang gumamit ng steroid.
“Ay, ‘wag, ‘wag, delikado sa katawan yun. Dapat all naturals tayo.”
Ganunpaman, hindi pa raw sigurado si Christian kung magagawan ng paraan ang taping niya para makasama siyang rumampa sa Cosmo Bachelor Bash on September 9.
STILL SINGLE. Matagal-tagal na ring single si Christian since he broke up with Rachelle Ann Go. Hanggang ngayon nga ba, wala pa rin siyang dine-date?
“Alam n’yo, ‘eto, nakakatawa… Nag-taping ako three-days straight sa Malaysia. Alam n’yo naman kapag taping sa ibang bansa, wala nang tulugan ‘yan. This was the one with Carmen Soo, yung Your Song na ‘Beautiful Girl,’ episode. Then sa October, November, magte-taping ako sa Malaysia. So, medyo mawawala ako nang matagal-tagal.
“So, totoo pala yun, kapag busy ka pala, medyo mahirap makahanap ng date. Pero, kailangang mag-concentrate ako dito. Kailangang mag-concentrate ako na continually i-prove na totoo po ito. Na kaya kong mag-Your Song, kaya kong mag-Star Power, kaya kong mag-movie,” sabi niya.
Ang Star Power ang bagong show ni Christian sa ABS-CBN, kasama ang Megastar na si Sharon Cuneta.

A sensational parody of BoA!
Korean pop star,BoA, expressed her gratitude to comedian, Park Whee-soon who parodied her on a show not long ago.
BoA wrote the following on her twitter page:
“Thank you Park Whee-soon oppa. This is the second parody of ‘Hurricane Venus’ after Young-chul oppa. I feel blissful. Thank you.”
As you can see from the photo, Park used the exact makeup style and wore the same costume like BoA.
